Security Settings

Protect your account with strong authentication. Manage these settings from Settings > Security.

Password Management

  1. Go to Security settings - Navigate to Settings > Security from the dashboard sidebar.
  2. Enter current password - Type your current password to verify your identity.
  3. Enter new password - Choose a strong new password (minimum 8 characters).
  4. Confirm and save - Re-enter the new password and click Update Password.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Use a password manager to generate and store a strong, unique password for your clarife account.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security using a time-based one-time password (TOTP).

Enabling 2FA

  1. Open 2FA settings - Go to Settings > Security and find the Two-Factor Authentication section.
  2. Click Enable - Click Enable 2FA to start the setup process.
  3. Scan QR code - Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password).
  4. Enter verification code - Type the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm setup.
  5. Save recovery codes - Store the recovery codes in a safe place. These are needed if you lose access to your authenticator.

⚠️ Warning: Keep your recovery codes secure. If you lose both your authenticator device and recovery codes, you will need to contact support to regain access.

Disabling 2FA

  1. Go to Settings > Security
  2. Click Disable 2FA
  3. Enter a current TOTP code to confirm

Which authenticator apps are supported?

Any TOTP-compatible app works, including Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden, and Microsoft Authenticator.

What if I lose my authenticator device?

Use one of the recovery codes provided during 2FA setup. Each code can only be used once. If you have no recovery codes, contact support@clarife.app.
