Security Settings
Protect your account with strong authentication. Manage these settings from Settings > Security.
Password Management
- Go to Security settings - Navigate to Settings > Security from the dashboard sidebar.
- Enter current password - Type your current password to verify your identity.
- Enter new password - Choose a strong new password (minimum 8 characters).
- Confirm and save - Re-enter the new password and click Update Password.
π‘ Tip: Use a password manager to generate and store a strong, unique password for your clarife account.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security using a time-based one-time password (TOTP).
Enabling 2FA
- Open 2FA settings - Go to Settings > Security and find the Two-Factor Authentication section.
- Click Enable - Click Enable 2FA to start the setup process.
- Scan QR code - Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password).
- Enter verification code - Type the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm setup.
- Save recovery codes - Store the recovery codes in a safe place. These are needed if you lose access to your authenticator.
β οΈ Warning: Keep your recovery codes secure. If you lose both your authenticator device and recovery codes, you will need to contact support to regain access.
Disabling 2FA
- Go to Settings > Security
- Click Disable 2FA
- Enter a current TOTP code to confirm
Which authenticator apps are supported?
Any TOTP-compatible app works, including Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden, and Microsoft Authenticator.
What if I lose my authenticator device?
Use one of the recovery codes provided during 2FA setup. Each code can only be used once. If you have no recovery codes, contact support@clarife.app.
