AI Credits
How credits work
AI videos are paid with video credits. A video without a narrator (subtitles and animations, no voice) costs 6 credits, a video with the standard narrator 10 credits, a video with the premium narrator 20 credits. Without enough balance you cannot start a generation.
ℹ️ Info: Every new account (Free plan) starts with 30 free video credits (3 videos with the standard narrator). You can buy more in packs of 100 credits (10 videos with the standard narrator), available on every plan.
Free starting credits
When you create a clarife account on the Free plan you immediately get 30 free video credits - 3 videos with the standard narrator. No trial or card required, and they never expire.

Buying credit packs
Video credit packs are available on all plans, including Free. One pack has 100 credits - 10 videos with the standard narrator, 5 with the premium narrator or 16 without a narrator; see the pricing page for the current price.
How to buy credits
- Go to Billing - Open Settings > Billing in your clarife dashboard.
- Find the video credits section - Your current credit balance is displayed.
- Purchase a pack - Click Buy credits and complete the checkout via Paddle. The credits are added to your account immediately.

You see the cost in the bar under the preview before you start. The premium narrator gives a more natural voice with a consistent timbre and more precise subtitles; a video without a narrator is carried by subtitles and animations - see the "Generating a Video" article.
Stacking packs
Packs stack - every purchase adds 100 credits to your balance. Example: a new account with two purchased packs has 30 + 100 + 100 = 230 credits, i.e. 23 videos with the standard narrator. Credits never expire.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits - both free starting credits and purchased ones - never expire and remain on your account until used.
Can I buy credits on the Free plan?
Yes. Credit packs are available on every plan, including Free.
What happens if a generation fails?
Failed generations don't use credits - the charged credits (6, 10 or 20) are returned to your balance automatically.
Is there a subscription option for credits?
Currently, credits are sold as one-time packs only. There is no recurring credit subscription.
Can I get a refund for unused credits?
Credits are non-refundable. Contact support@clarife.app if you have a specific billing issue.
I remember different numbers - what changed?
Since August 2026 credits use a new scale: 1 old credit = 10 current credits. Your balance was converted automatically (×10), so you lost nothing - the price of a video and of a pack in dollars is the same. The new scale lets us price cheaper options (e.g. a video without a narrator) below the cost of a narrated video.
