Companion Settings

Click the tray icon and select Settings (or use the gear icon) to open the companion app settings panel.

ℹ️ Info: The auto-save delay is shown only when Confirm before saving is on - it sets how many seconds until a capture is saved automatically (0 s = immediately).

ℹ️ Info: PNG is lossless; JPEG produces smaller files. You choose the format in settings, and for JPEG you can adjust the quality.

Configure global keyboard shortcuts for quick capture in all three modes:

To change shortcuts:

1. Open Settings - Click the tray icon and select Settings.
2. Go to the Shortcuts section - Open the keyboard shortcuts section.
3. Record a new shortcut - Click the shortcut field and press your desired key combination. The new shortcut is saved immediately.

⚠️ Warning: Make sure your chosen shortcut does not conflict with macOS system shortcuts or other applications. If a conflict exists, the shortcut may not work.

Sign in with your clarife account so your captures sync automatically to your account and become available in the web editor. See the Sync article for details.

Open Settings and select your preferred language (English or Polish) from the Language dropdown. The change applies immediately - no restart required.

Settings are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/app.clarife.capture/. Deleting this folder resets all settings to defaults.

There is no reset button in the UI. To reset, quit the app, delete the configuration folder, and relaunch.

Ensure the shortcut is not used by another app or macOS. Try a different combination. Also verify that clarife capture has Accessibility permissions in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
